1) IT Act 2000 & Intermediary Rules 2021
Because Challenge Mania allows User-Generated Content (UGC) uploads, we function as an “Intermediary” under India’s Information Technology Act, 2000. This means we may host user content while maintaining legal safe-harbour protections only if we follow due-diligence rules.
What this means for users
- Clear Rules: We publish Terms of Use and Community/UGC Guidelines that prohibit illegal, harmful, or rights-violating content.
- Reporting & Takedowns: Users and authorities can report unlawful or infringing content through our reporting tools or by contacting our Grievance Officer.
- Time-Bound Action: We review valid complaints and comply with lawful orders within timelines required by Indian law.
- Repeat Violations: Accounts repeatedly posting unlawful or infringing content may be suspended or terminated.
- Cooperation with Law: We comply with valid court/government directions and preserve logs as required.
2) DPDP Act 2023 & DPDP Rules 2025 (Data Protection)
Challenge Mania processes personal data to operate a PPV streaming service. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP), Challenge Mania is a Data Fiduciary, and users are Data Principals.
What this means for users
- Notice & Consent: We collect personal data only for clear purposes (account, payments, streaming, UGC moderation, safety), and where required, we take your explicit consent.
- Your Rights: You can request access, correction, deletion (where applicable), and withdraw consent via account settings or by contacting our Grievance Officer.
- Security: We apply reasonable security safeguards such as encryption, access control, and monitoring to protect data.
- Breach Response: If a significant breach occurs, we take immediate corrective steps and notify users/authorities where required.
- Children’s Data: PPV purchases and uploads are restricted for minors without verifiable parental/guardian consent, and we apply enhanced protections for users under 18.
- Cross-Border Processing: If data is processed outside India (e.g., cloud/CDN), it is done only where legally permitted and protected through contracts and safeguards.
3) Copyright Act 1957
Challenge Mania hosts both Licensed Content and UGC, so copyright compliance is central to how we operate.
What this means for users and creators
- Licensed Content: We stream only content that we own or are licensed to distribute, including PPV rights, territories, and durations.
- No Piracy: Recording, ripping, redistributing, or illegally sharing PPV streams is prohibited. DRM and anti-piracy controls are used to protect creators and licensors.
- Copyright Takedowns: Rights holders can submit infringement notices. Upon valid notice or lawful order, we remove/disable infringing content and may restrict repeat infringers.
- Upload Responsibility: Users must upload only content they own or have permission to use.
4) Consumer Protection Act 2019 & E-Commerce Rules 2020
PPV access is a digital service sold online. Therefore, Challenge Mania follows Indian consumer transparency and fair-practice rules.
What this means for users
- Transparent Pricing: Every PPV title shows its full price and applicable taxes (GST) before purchase.
- Clear “What You Get” Info: Before checkout we display:
- viewing window or number of plays,
- geo/device restrictions,
- any special conditions,
- refund/cancellation eligibility.
- No Hidden Charges: We do not add undisclosed fees after checkout.
- Fair Practices: We do not use misleading ads, fake scarcity, or manipulative dark patterns.
